When you hear the word “DHA,” it sounds like it might be just another harmful chemical in a beauty product, like sodium lauryl sulfate or petroleum. However, the DHA in Sinless Sun’s sunless tanning solution is derived from beet sugar. It’s an Omega 3 Fatty Acid that occurs naturally, and in some forms is necessary to a human diet. So How Does DHA Work?
DHA works by reacting with protein in the outermost surface of the skin. The outermost surface of skin is comprised mostly of dead skin cells. This reaction causes a brown, tan-looking color, which stays until the dead skin cells are exfoliated/sloughed off during the normal process of skin regeneration and replacement.

There are no known dangers of the use of DHA on the body, as it’s been proven by the FDA to be safe to apply for a sunless tan. The only restriction, as outline by the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, is that DHA, when used in cosmetic solutions, is for external use only.
